Balancing the Nervous System: rest, readiness and action

Come and experience the nervous system as a responsive, dynamic network of communication, awareness and learning, through guided movement exploration, experiential anatomy and hands-on support. Based in Body-Mind Centering®, this workshop will introduce embodied approaches to exploring the nervous system, including the head, heart and belly ‘brains’, sensory/motor flows, and autonomic rhythms of rest and alertness. This work helps support the release of excess tension by calibrating states of rest, readiness and action. Support your nervous system with mindful attention - it’s a great way to finish the year!

Kim Sargent-Wishart is a Somatic Movement Educator, researcher and artist. She has a PhD in Performance Studies (2016), for which she developed research into creative process through embryological narratives, somatic methodology, Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and contemplative arts practices. Kim is a certified practitioner of Body-Mind Centering® (1999) and is currently training to become a certified BMC Teacher.
