Tuning into Subtle Breath
8 week block
19 April - 7 June
6:30pm-7:30pm
Pranayama - or yogic breathing - offers an important link between body and mind; between asana (physical postures) and samadhi (deep meditation).
The Sanskrit word prana refers to both the breath and life force energy. While many factors can influence the quantity and flow of prana in the body, the breath is perhaps the most direct and powerful.
There are many health benefits associated with regular Pranayama practice including
balancing the nervous system, detoxifying the body, and increasing vitality.
A tantric practice that matures with our capacity and willingness to feel into the subtle currents of life - pranayama is a divine process of unfolding and transformation.
These sessions draw on both Yogic and Buddhist breathing practices to help develop a clear and tangible relationship with the inner terrain of breath, prana and consciousness - setting up the internal conditions for deep meditation.
You are welcome to join casually however regularity of practice can open the way for a far deeper understanding and experience of the practice. Each class will build on the class before - so continuity will be helpful.
